Aid by the Dozen donates to local burn victim

At the monthly Aid by the Dozen meeting in January, the club forwarded its monthly donation to a local burn victim. The meeting was held at the 19th hole on Jan. 21 and Sherry Allen served as the event’s hostess. During the meeting, thank you notes received by the club were read and secret pals were many. The cake raffle was won by Chris Dubey and the hostess gift by Leora Jacobs. The next club meeting will take place on Feb. 18, hosted by Geri Skiba.

Floral Mood Boosters at Alpena library

The Alpena County Library is hosting Floral Mood Boosters on Feb. 20, from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. February may be the shortest month, but it always seems to go on forever. Boost those winter blues out the door at the library with some floral activities for all ages. Attendees can visit a variety of crafting stations, including paper flowers, creating a kiss box, and planting a temporary indoor garden. This event is free and open to the public.

Country Poor Boys to perform at VFW in Alpena

On Feb. 28, the VFW 2496 is hosting a concert featuring the Country Poor Boys at the VFW hall on Connon Street in Alpena. The event begins at 7 p.m. and is expected to conclude at about 11 p,m. This event is open to the public.
