Alpena Area Brick Build on March 14

ALPENA – On March 14, The Alpena Area Brick Build will be hosted at the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center in Alpena. Starbase leads this competition and competitors must register beforehand. The public is invited to view the creations from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. People can also make their own creations at the friends and family fun build section. There will also be a meet and greet with the local robotics team who will be on site to judge entries and announce the winners. This is a free event.

Posen VFW chicken dinner

POSEN — The VFW Posen Post 7804 Auxiliary will host a chicken dinner on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. The menu includes baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, coleslaw, homemade bread, and desserts. The cost is $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 12 years-old, and kids under 5-years old are free. $5.00. Take outs available and the facility is handicap accessible.

Habitat seeking donations

ALPENA — Habitat for Humanity Northeast Michigan are seeking spring donations people with items to donate can contact the ReStore at 989-354-2141 to have the donation picked up. The store hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The store is closed on Sundays. The ReStore is located at 2630 U.S. 23 South in Alpena.
