Erick and Valerie Erickson, of Alpena, celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary today.

Erick Erickson and Valerie Zdybel were married on Aug. 9, 1975 at St. John the Baptist Church in Alpena.

They have two children, Greg (Michelle) Erickson of Florida, and Kelly (Brent) Spencer of Alpena. The couple also has 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. A son, Erick Erickson, Jr., passed in 2017.

The Ericksons are celebrating their anniversary with family and friends at a party at their home.
