Putting for Preschoolers golf scramble raises over $11K

ALPENA — On June 14, Alpena Childcare and Development Center held the first Putting for Preschoolers golf scramble at Rivers Edge, raising $11,309.72 toward their capital campaign to add more preschool classrooms to accommodate 50 more students. ACDC’s capital campaign has now raised $152,038.02 toward a matching grant with the Besser Foundation for $200,000.
The top three teams in the golf scramble were:
First place — Dean Caldwell, Thomas York, Tyler Little, and Clint Miller.
Second place — Jordan Woodruff, Josh Brunner, Mark Garber-Biggs, and Andrew Seguin.
Third place — Scott Gilmet, John Negro, Austin Gilmet, and Richard Binkowski.

Individual contest winners were:
Closest to the pin #3: Thomas York.
Men’s longest putt #8: Keegan Spomer.
Women’s longest putt #8: Ashley Bialek.
Closest to the object #10: Jason Henry.

ACDC’s next fundraising event is Saturday, July 19 at McRae Park. The childcare center is partnering up with the Michigan Brown Trout Festival for a two-day pickleball tournament. Adults play Saturday and kids Sunday. For more information, visit www.browntroutfestival.com/pickleball-tournaments.
