ALPENA — Several spooky events are planned for Friday in downtown Alpena.
Downtown Trick-or-Treating will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, with many local businesses passing out candy to visitors. The streets will be packed with families in costume lining up to gather their treats.
The Michigan State Police Alpena Post is organizing the Trunk-or-Treat event happening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday in the parking lot behind Alpena City Hall, 208 N. 1st Ave. If any businesses or organizations wish to participate, please contact Trooper Kunath via email at kunathj@michigan.gov.
Top off (or kick off) your trick-or-treating evening with a trip to the Haunted Museum inside the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday. This is an all ages, free event. There will be trick-or-treating, games, and the haunted ship/museum is optional. This event is possible because of support from Friends of Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary, many candy donations, and lots of volunteers.
