ONAWAY — The Salvation Army is pleased to announce the appointment of Pastor Trenton Wollberg of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Onaway as its new volunteer service unit representative in western Presque Isle County.

In his position, Wollberg will provide assistance to people in crises and identify other available community resources. Services include utility, rent, transportation and emergency lodging assistance. Those seeking assistance will be required to provide a photo ID and income verification. Wollberg will assist residents seeking assistance in Presque Isle County zip codes 49759 or 49765. The Rogers City unit will assist those with 49743, 49776, 49777 or 49779 zip codes.

The Presque Isle County volunteer Service Units are part of The Salvation Army Service Extension Department which provides emergency assistance in 17 eastern Michigan counties. The Salvation Army extension program is funded through donations, Christmas Kettles, estates and mail appeals. All funds received by The Salvation Army are used to benefit the county of origin.
