ALL programs include camera club, pandemic reading, more

The Association of Lifelong Learners is continuing its online programming plus some in-person programs at the Briggs Center and elsewhere. Due to very limited seating capacity, you must call the ALL Office at 989-358-7207 to get a confirmed reservation for in-person programs. Most in-person programs will also be livestreamed.

These programs are open to the Public. Just send an email to ALL@Alpenacc.edu to receive connection information.

Wednesday

At 11 a.m. Judy McFalda will lead “Wills, Trusts and Power of Attorney.”

This will be an introductory presentation on Wills, Trusts & Powers of Attorney — what they are and why you may or may not need one.

McFalda is a lifelong resident of northern Michigan. She is a strong supporter of ALL and a practicing attorney in Rogers City with a focus on law relating to estate planning, elder law and other areas of everyday life.

Then at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday is “Focus on Fun Camera Club.”

This is an informal monthly meeting where you can share the joy of photography. From beginning photographers to experts, members have widely varying degrees of photographic expertise and experience and are willing to share their knowledge. Each month a photographic topic is chosen, and the fun begins. You will be welcomed.

Thursday

Join Karen Magness-Eubank at 1:30 p.m. for “Reading in Interesting Times.”

“May you live in interesting times” is not a blessing. It’s a curse. Fortunately, one of the good things about interesting times is that they give us a lot of time to read. In this talk, Karen Magness-Eubank will share what she has been reading during the pandemic. From plague books to books on racial equity to books about knitting vampires, it has been an adventure.

Magness-Eubank is an avid reader, author and former teacher. She holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Fine Arts and Philosophy.

Friday

At 1 p.m. Friday is “Thunder Bay Island Lighthouse Preservation Society,” with Susan Kitzman and Sue Skibbe.

This will be an update on recent years’ restorations, maintenance and ongoing cultural plans for Thunder Bay Island and the lighthouse.

Skibbe is secretary andKitzman is the president of the Thunder Bay Island Lighthouse Preservation Society.
