Natalie Wierzbicki

Natalie Wierzbicki earns master’s degree

The University of Nevada Reno College of Education announces the graduation of Natalie Carol Wierzbicki with a Master’s of Science Education degree.

Wierzbicki teaches sixth and eighth grade science and resides in the Lake Tahoe area.

She is the daughter of Ken and Jennifer Wierzbicki, and the sister of Jack (Sara) Wierzbicki.

Alayna Nugent earns 4.0 GPA

Alayna Nugent, daughter of Brad and Laurie Nugent of Lachine, completed the second semester of her junior year at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a GPA of 4.0.

She has been awarded University Honors Designation in Literature, Science, and the Arts.

This designation is awarded to LSA students who earned a 3.5 GPA or higher during a term.

Alayna majors in history and minors in Judaic Studies.

Benjamin Matteson on Troy Univ. Chancellor’s List

Benjamin Matteson of Alpena has been named to the Chancellor’s List at Troy University in Alabama for the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year.

The Chancellor’s List honors full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0.

Local students graduate from SVSU

UNIVERSITY CENTER ­– About 800 students graduated from Saginaw Valley State University following the 2020 winter semester.

The graduates earned the distinction despite a global pandemic that led many institutions — including SVSU — to transition its in-class courses to online and remote learning environments in the middle of their final semester.

The following local students were among the graduates: Gabrielle Balog of Hillman, Gwen Balog of Hillman, Emily Edmonds of Ossineke, Connor Freel of Alpena, Samantha Morehouse of Lewiston, and Savannah Walter of Lewiston.

Locals on Grand Valley State Dean’s List

Grand Valley State University announces the names of students who were placed on the dean’s list for the Winter 2020 semester concluding in April. The list includes those students who have maintained a 3.5 grade point average and been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits.
