MiKaela Bannon earns first runner-up at Miss Michigan’s Outstanding Teen 2019

MUSKEGON — MiKaela Bannon, a 17-year-old Rogers City High School student, recently earned the honor of First Runner-Up at Miss Michigan’s Outstanding Teen 2019 Program at the Frauenthal Theater in Muskegon, Mich.

On June 12, she was honored as first-runner up, and also earned the People’s Choice Award and was voted by her peers as Miss Congeniality. For her talent portion she performed a energetic Ballet En Pointe Dance to “Pirates of the Caribbean — The Curse of the Black Pearl.” Her platform is Paws with a Cause Service dogs of America.

This honor also earned her $1,150 in scholarship money toward college.

Bannon entered the Miss America Organization Scholarship Program when she was 13 years old, vying for her first title of Miss Sunrise Side’s Outstanding Teen, and to her surprise she won, becoming Miss Sunrise Side’s Outstanding Teen 2015. From there she went on to compete and win the title of Miss Huron’s Outstanding Teen 2017, and she currently holds the title of Miss West Michigan’s Outstanding Teen 2019. She has been to the state pageant competition, Miss Michigan’s Outstanding Teen, in Muskegon four times, and once as an at-large 2017 contestant as well.

She will be a senior this fall at Rogers City High School and is the daughter of Missy and Bill Bannon.
