ALPENA — The Alpena Biker Coalition, represented by John Putkamer, recently presented a generous donation to the Feeding Kids Ministry of Resurrection Lutheran Church of Alpena (RLCA). The gift was gratefully received by Jamie Treinen, Director of Feeding Kids Ministry, along with RLCA’s Pastor Doug Lopez.

This donation directly strengthens a program that provides weekly food support to local children. During the school year, Feeding Kids Ministry packs 250-280 bags of food each week, ensuring students have reliable access to meals over the weekend. The bags are distributed every Friday through partnering local schools, offering consistent help to families across the community.

Feeding Kids Ministry operates entirely through donations big and small, and the continued generosity of local individuals and organizations makes it possible to keep this vital service running. As one of Resurrection Lutheran Church of Alpena’s key outreach efforts, the ministry reflects the congregation’s commitment to serving neighbors in need. Members often say they strive to be the “Hands and Feet of Jesus”, living out their faith through practical acts of care and compassion.

Resurrection Lutheran Church warmly welcomes the community to join them for Sunday worship at 9 a.m., located at the corner of Grant and Brooke Street in Alpena. All are invited to come, connect, and be part of a church family dedicated to serving others.
