Ashley Hanner of Lincoln and Hansel Rodriguez, formerly of Santiago, Dominican Republic, announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Roxanne Hanner of Lincoln, and Larry and Jean Hanner of Ossineke. The future groom is the son of Miriam Rodriguez of Manchester, N.H., and Elvin Rodriguez of Tampa, Fla.

Ashley is a 2003 graduate of Alcona High School, a 2007 graduate of Grand Valley State University and a 2010 graduate of Argosy University in Arlington, Va. She is employed as a supervisor with Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency in Washington, D.C.

Hansel is a 2003 graduate of Juan XXIII High School and a 2012 graduate of the University of Maryland. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2003-2011, including four years active duty and four years reserve duty. He served in both Cuba and Djibouti. Hansel is currently on the National Security Staff at the White House in Washington, D.C.

The couple will exchange their wedding vows Nov. 9, 2013 at Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
