Galyn Rudolph Hoeft was laid to rest on April 10, 2023. He was born in Rogers City, Michigan on March 8, 1961, he was 62 years old. He is the son of the late Gwendolyn and Gary Dean Hoeft and was also raised by the late Grace O’Connor (his loving #2 mom). Surviving are his children Rae-Lynn Hoeft, Aaliyah (Christopher) Tulgetske, Harley (Mathew) Fletcher, Rhyder (Kayli) Hoeft. His siblings Greg Hoeft, Grant Hoeft, Grace Hoeft (Nathan Scott). FREDERICK MAURICE KEUNE IV

Frederick Maurice Keune IV, 69, of Alpena passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. Frederick was born Aug. 22, 1953, to the late Frederick III and Carol (Conlon) Keune. He served in the United States Army as an MP Paratrooper Air Borne 82 and worked at the Alpena CRTC for 36 years. On Nov. 6, 1982, he married Charlotte Pentland. Fred enjoyed grouse and deer hunting and time at camp. He served on the Maple Ridge Township Fire Department. ROSSEN, Ruth, 88, of Ossineke, died April 12, 2023. She is survived by her husband, Guy, two daughters, Sherry Hahn and Cindy (Kevin) Alur, eight grandchildren, Jason (Julie), Jeremy (Sarah), Stephanie “Ruthann,” Joseph (Amy), Jacob (Crystal), Alexander (Lensay), Joshua (Alexis), and Shelby (Cody). PINES, Scott Alan, 56, of Rogers City, died peacefully on April 11, 2023 at MediLodge in Hillman following a year-and-a-half battle with cancer. He is survived by two sisters, Ramona (Glen) Suszek and Stephanie Bellairs, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins. Per Scott’s wishes, no public services will take place. Inurnment will take place at St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be given in memory of Scott Pines to Hospice of Michigan. David Ralph Karschnick Sr., 82, of Alpena passed away Monday, April 10, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. Dave was born June 11, 1940, in Wyandotte, Michigan to the late Ralph and Betty (Strobl) Karschnick. On Aug. 20, 1959, he married Gayle Dragmiller. He served on the Alpena Municipal Council for 21 years, was past president of Alpena Country Club, past president of the Chamber of Commerce, current Alpena County Commissioner, past president of Alpena Softball Association, and elected to the Alpena Sports Hall of Fame. James John Miller Sr., affectionately known as Jim, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2023, in Alpena, Michigan, at the age of 67. Born on April 29, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, Jim was the loving son of the late James G. Miller and Dorothy (Gilman) Miller. Jim is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Audette, with whom he shared a beautiful life.
