Krueger trial adjourned till June

Gavin Krueger, who is accused of selling drugs to individuals who died from them, will have to wait to be tried.

The trial is now slated to begin in June after a status conference on Tuesday in 26th Circuit Court in Alpena.

Krueger’s attorney, Devin Pommerenke, and Alpena County Prosecutor Cynthia Muszynski could not be reached for further comment.

Krueger is currently facing two counts of delivery of controlled substances causing death, one felony firearms charge, and one count of using a computer to commit a crime.

On March 18, 2023, Michigan State Police troopers from the Alpena Post responded to what was reported as two unresponsive males at a residence on U.S.-23 South in Alpena Township. Emergency medical services officials were already on the scene, where they found the two men dead. An autopsy later determined the cause of the deaths to be intoxication from multiple drugs, including fentanyl.

An investigation led the State Police to Krueger, and, on July 23, after some additional evidence-gathering and an arrest warrant being granted, Krueger was arrested in Vero Beach, Florida by the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

On Aug. 10, Krueger was transported to Michigan by the Michigan State Police 7th District Fugitive Team and lodged in the Alpena County Jail.
