GAYLORD–The Alpena High boys soccer team came up empty-handed on Tuesday, losing to Gaylord 5-0 in a Big North Conference contest.

Alpena is 5-3-1 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The Wildcats play at Cadillac on Thursday.

Alcona 2, Pinconning 1

PINCONNING–The Alcona soccer team edged Pinconning on Tuesday, defeating the Spartans 2-1.

Corey Bolboltz led Alcona’s offense with four shots on goal and assisted on a goal from Tim Jamieson.

Joel Steiner added a goal for the Tigers, putting a free kick just under the crossbar.

Caleb Kamischke had a strong game in net for Alcona, stopping eight shots.
