The 37th annual Alpena Sports Hall of Fame banquet has been rescheduled.

Originally the celebration was set to be on Saturday, May 2, at the APlex. The annual event has now been changed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The new scheduled date is currently set for Saturday, August 8, at the APlex.

“With the weather and health situation in question, the welfare of the interested people was of a concern and it is better to be safe than sorry,” Alpena Sports Hall of Fame president Gary Mischley said.

This year’s inductees are: James Hubert, Eric Puls, Shannon Woloszyk, Bob Kelley, Tom Lavoie, Terry Thomas and Bruce VanderWall. The Boosters of the Year are Joyce Gohlke and Jim Townsend. The Team of the Year is the 2010 Alpena High School Wildcat baseball team.
