A vote for Marie Fielder is a vote for solutions

I feel compelled to reply to the nasty, immature comments made by Geyer Balog in The Alpena News regarding the recent visit by AG Dana Nessel and Democratic candidate for the 106th district Marie Fielder. The Alpena News quote in case you missed it, “It is appalling that Marie Fielder is aligning herself with such a perverted individual. Such delusional sexual identity politics have absolutely no place in Northeast Michigan schools. This amorality from the Democrats is not surprising, unfortunately, as their party has been sliding further and further away from reason and logicality. We must continue to fight this madness.”

This type of hateful, and I might add un-Christian, bigotry, has no place in our schools or our government. I also don’t think the Republican Party has any claims to morality! Another GOP candidate, Cam Cavitt, was quoted by The Alpena News, “Nessel did not visit Alpena to talk about the needs of Northeast Michigan, but rather to reinforce radical ideas held by Fielder.”

AG Nessel was here to talk to members of our community about scams with seniors, issues in our schools, to local leaders regarding drug addiction solutions, about our limited medical and mental health providers, and inconsistent broadband, which further limits those individuals afflicted with conditions to access medications and counseling together with other supports they might need. These are not radical ideas.

Marie is listening to the people of the 106th and coming up with viable solutions to their concerns and problems. I will cast my vote for Marie Fielder and AG Dana Nessel, hardworking, educated, mature women with life experience.

Vote for solutions.

Vote for Marie Fielder for the 106th.

LINDA McGILL,

Alpena
