As daily readers of The Alpena News for 30 years, minus winter escapes, we have always enjoyed keeping up with daily Northeast Michigan life.

In these times fraught with concern and fear of COVID-19 and very divisive politics, we are even more aware of what extremely balanced and factual news reporting the Hinkleys are bringing to our doors.

For Justin, it is like walking a tightrope, alternating the op-eds and political cartoons of each persuasion from one day to the next.

Ideally the cartoons wouldn’t make me grind my teeth, but that is the nature of the beast.

The Associated Press articles are well-chosen, showing a reluctance to print the inflammatory or unverifiable. Thank you both for being a part of the Alpena community.
