Vote yes on Alpena schools’ bond proposal

As the March 10 bond proposal vote approaches, I urge all eligible voters to vote YES on this issue. The studies that have been done to determine the conditions in our elementary schools, Thunder Bay Junior High School and Alpena High School all point to the need for new boilers, repairs and security improvements. It is our responsibility as citizens of the Alpena Public Schools district to provide our students with warm, safe, and secure schools. The approval of the measure will benefit our children by improving the learning environment we provide for them.

Remember that taxes are not expected to increase because old bonds are to be paid off.

I encourage all voters who still question the bond request to attend one of the meetings offered in the coming weeks to further explain the proposal. You have the opportunity to ask questions, if there is still more information you need to help you decide on your vote.

ANN HARDESTY,

Ossineke
