Remember all the important elections in 2020

On behalf of the League of Women Voters of Northeast Michigan, we would like to remind voters of important elections coming up in 2020. Not only is there the general election in November and the August primary, Michigan has a presidential primary on March 10, 2020.

For those who will be staying elsewhere during the winter, it’s important to request an absentee ballot. Many clerks already maintain a permanent absentee voter application list. Once you are on this list, your clerk will send you an application before each election.

You can find your local city or township clerk by going to mvic.sos.state.mi.us/clerk.

Please remember that in any primary you are only allowed to vote within one party. You will need to specify which arty you choose to vote for the presidential primary.

Ballots must be received by the local clerk before polls close.

PAULINE BUCHNER,

DORIS FEYS,

Co-presidents, League of Women Voters of Northeast Michigan
