Robert Mueller is no American hero, folks

Mark Shields, anti-Trump syndicated columnist, in his July 8 column in The News attempted to shield (pun intended) Robert Mueller from his recent and future actions by relating what Mueller did in the 1960s.

Yes, Mueller served in Vietnam, and he should be commended for his service. But what has he done for us lately?

He has presided over an inquiry/witch hunt/ political hack job, whatever you would like to call it, against President Donald Trump. He asked for an appointment to the head of the FBI and when denied that he was given the title of special prosecutor by the Deep State in DC. He loaded his staff with Democratic partisan attorneys, some associated with the Clinton campaign, and included on his staff deeply partisan FBI agents and lawyers. He used as the basis of his investigations a discredited document paid for by the opposing political party. He ignored obvious collusion by that candidate and the Democrats with the Russians while hoping to find some scrap of evidence against Trump or someone even remotely associated with the Trump campaign. Failing at that, he used Gestapo-like tactics to attempt to break those associates. He threatened to use the powers given him to go after the son of one of his targets, Gen. Michael Flynn, himself a decorated servant to this country. He ordered a guns drawn, nighttime FBI raid on Roger Stone, who was not anywhere near a violent threat. Failing to find any evidence at all of collusion or obstruction Mueller resorted to putting out a 400 plus page disgrace of a report full of innuendo but lacking substance to feed the “resistance.”

Hero? Not anymore. He’s changed his colors and is no longer what he seemed to be years ago. He is an enemy of our country.
