I, too, like Dr. Avery Aten (“Celebrate our local health care system,” April 13) had an excellent experience at MidMichigan Health recently. I was a patient in the ER and everyone from the receptionist to the X-ray tech to the young woman who administered the breathing treatment were friendly, efficient and helpful.

The two providers I spent the most time with were Anthony Pratt, NP and Gabe Kaiser, RN. Anthony Pratt asked questions, listened attentively and involved me in decision-making. He clearly explained his diagnostic plan and after testing, his treatment plan. Gabe Kaiser administered the treatment plan, clearly preparing me for each step in the process. Both men created an atmosphere that instilled confidence and calmness.

Any health care system is only as good as the people who work in the system. I am glad for the good people who cared for me so well.
