On Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, Alcona Health Center, in cooperation with the Michigan Food Bank, provided fresh produce at no cost to all citizens of Alpena. The event was a huge success, with over 200 people in line to get the best of what our local farmers had to offer. All of the people that organize this event and all of the Alcona Health Center employees that hosted the event treated all with dignity and respect. The overwhelming response to this program was outstanding! I sincerely appreciated the fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, corn on the cob, watermelon, potatoes, all of the bread products, and even the fresh collard greens! A big shout out to the Michigan Food Bank for providing for our community, and a big thank you to Alcona Health Center for hosting the event and treating all people with their outstanding spirit of kindness!
