Address the root cause of gun issue, the user

“The March.” Exercising one of your Constitutional Rights? A sign caught my eye, “21st Century Weapons 18th Century Laws.” It appears the un-thinking follower carrying that sign doesn’t realize, the founders positively knew firearms and weapons would evolve. The weapons our founders had were actually better weapons than the British had. Do you not understand that the Second Amendment was written to guarantee your right to the First Amendment?

As unbelievable a tragedy as any mass killing is, regardless of the tool used, not a single person carried a sign identifying the root cause. I don’t see people blaming a truck, pressure cooker, or a truck laden with fertilizer. The blame never addresses the root cause, the user.

Facts are that with this last school shooting there were many warning signs, all of which were totally ignored. Every organization that could have prevented this tragedy failed. Obamacare failed, as this person should have had the insurance to help with his mental problems.

Of all the people who die daily from drunk driving or texting while driving, I haven’t found a single person who finds fault with the vehicle or the cell phone, asking to ban either.

This country doesn’t need unthinking followers, that hitch their wagon to another’s vision uncritically, and have no idea what or how their own values are being served, then add little or no value. They are baggage, and are at the mercy of whomever they choose to follow on faith.

It’s well past time, that well-meaning people start realizing and working towards fixing the root cause. The user. If you start chipping away at our Constitutional rights, sooner or later you’ll lose them all, including the First Amendment right you just exercised.
