Congrats, hospital, on 5-star rating

MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena recently received high marks from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The hospital got a five-star overall rating out of five possible stars and a four-star rating in patient surveys, News staff writer Michael Gonzalez reported recently.

The Alpena hospital was one of 13 in the state to earn such high marks.

The rating underscores the hospital’s commitment to quality care and patient safety and satisfaction.

A quality health care system is important.

A good hospital not only provides important, often lifesaving care to the residents of its community, but a good hospital also makes the area a more attractive place for people to settle down and for businesses to invest.

So the hospital’s high marks aren’t just good for the hospital and its patients, it’s good for all of us.

Congratulations to the hospital and to every doctor, nurse, and other employee who contributed to the high marks.
