DUANE W. CARPENTER

Duane W. Carpenter, 83, of Alpena passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. Duane William Carpenter was born in Grand Marais, Michigan to the late Donald and Marjorie (Kettering) Carpenter and served in the United States Army from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1964. Duane worked as a commercial fisherman until he moved to Alpena to begin working at Abitti in 1968 and retired in 2001. On Dec. 24, 1970, he married Phyllis Sharp VanNatter and took on the role of stepfather to her four children. She preceded him in death on Oct. 11, 2010. Surviving ...

James Alan ‘Bobo’ Goodrich, 60, of Alpena passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, at MediLodge of Green View. James was born July 1, 1962, in Alpena to Howard and Shirley (Keyes) Goodrich. He worked at Big Boy Restaurant for 40 years. Bobo enjoyed helping his community in any way possible. HINCKA, Mary Agnes, 76, of Posen, died Oct. 3, 2022. Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 4-7 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday at St. Casimir Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of her Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating. Burial will follow in at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery. A complete obituary will be announced when her funeral arrangements are finalized. KIRSCHNER, Donald Paul, 92, of Alpena, died peacefully Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, at MediLodge of Green View. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Clint) Lee; granddaughters, Stephanie (Dave Edwards), Missy, Lisa; grandson, Nick (Alexis Ferguson); nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. Memorial visitation will take place Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Alpena from noon until the memorial service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Shipman officiating.
