Eileen Juilleret, 79, of Charlevoix passed away Jan. 19, 2023 at home with her family. She was born April 24, 1943, in Rogers City, Michigan to Harry and Erma Sorgatt and attended Rogers City Schools. In 1967 she moved to Charlevoix with her family and was a homemaker for several years before starting her career with the Charlevoix Public Schools. She worked for the school system in an administrative support position as payroll clerk for 25 years retiring in 2002. Paul C. Kortier, age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023. Paul Carl Kortier was born in Flat Rock on July 23, 1929, to the late Omer and Florence (Bruskotter) Kortier. On Sept. 15, 1954, he married Cecile L. Tortorelli. Paul was proud to serve 35 years in the Military, US Army (2 years), the Air National Guard (33 years). He was also a truck driver for 35 years, a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Donna Marie Kowalski, 71, of Ossineke passed away Jan. 19, 2023 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Donna was born Feb. 17, 1951 in Alpena to the late Robert and Dorothy (Lamp) Hall. She was a lifelong resident of the Alpena area and a graduate of Alpena High School. On June 28, 1969 she married the love of her life Ronald Kowalski at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. He approached life with a calm assurance, benevolence, quick wit, and an inexhaustible well of strength and determination.
