ADOLPH DAVE SCHILLER
Adolph Dave Schiller, lovingly known as George, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2023, in Sanborn Township., Michigan at 82 years of age. Born on May 29, 1941, in Alpena, Michigan, he was the son of the late Dave and Seraphine (Corthal) Schiller.
Adolph is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Linda (Olmstead) Schiller, whom he married on Feb. 19, 1966. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Kristina (Mark) Duncan and Jeff (Carey) Schiller. Adolph’s legacy will live on through his five adoring grandchildren, Chelsea Duncan, Shelby Duncan, Brooke Schiller, Jake Schiller, and Chase Schiller, as well as several loving nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his siblings, Darvin, Herman, and Shirley Harmon. Adolph was preceded in death by his brothers, Ervin, August, Gustave, Albert, and his sisters, Elanore Pokorzynski and Velma Schiller.
A lifelong farmer, Adolph was the epitome of a hard worker. He dedicated his life to cultivating the land and providing for his family. His passion for farming was evident to all who knew him, as he could often be found recruiting any able bodies that happened to be in the vicinity to join him in his work. Adolph’s commitment to his farm was matched only by his devotion to his family, with whom he cherished spending time.
Adolph was a kind and selfless individual, always quick to help anyone in need. He was known for his wise counsel, offering advice and lending out equipment to friends and neighbors with a warm smile. His generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his love for farming and family, Adolph was a long-time member of Hope Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake.
His dedication to his family, farm, and community will serve as an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Family will receive friends on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Hope Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Bryan Salminen officiating. Interment will follow at Hope Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Hope Lutheran Church or the Huron Humane Society. McWilliams Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
