CHARLOTTE ELEANOR BARNARD
Charlotte Eleanor Barnard, age 96, passed away on June 4 at Sally’s Care Home in Alpena surrounded by family. Charlotte was born on June 16, 1924, in Wyandotte, Michigan. She was the second child of the late George C. and Bertha (Priem) Reichow. She graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte, Michigan in 1942, and on Feb. 16, 1946, she married Donald A. Barnard. Charlotte retired from the Wyandotte Public School System. She loved playing cards and going to bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, brothers, Tom, William, and Glen, sisters Geraldine, Betty, and Patty.
She leaves behind her children, Janice (Robert) VanCleave of Alpena, Don (Theresa) Barnard of Alpena, Terry (Rosemary) Barnard of Brownstown, Michigan, and Jim (Cathy) Barnard of Orange City, Florida. She also leaves seven grandchildren: Donny (Angela), Robert (Michele), Michael (Karen), Bethany (Brian), Terry, Ron, and Jeff, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Family will receive friends for visitation at McWilliams Funeral Home on Sat. June 19, 2021, from 1 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 2 p.m. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral homes website, mcwilliamsfh.com, where online condolences may also be registered.
