Hospital changes texting service

MyMichigan Health, the Midland-based owner of the Alpena hospital, said in a news release Tuesday that patients who have opted to receive text messages from MyMichigan Health will soon see a new number popping up on their mobile phone screens as MyMichigan switches its texting service to Epic’s Hello World application.

According to the release, patients who have previously opted in will receive a welcome text from 96393 on June 13 and will continue to receive future texts from that number.

Patients who have not opted into text messages will continue to receive appointment reminders via voice calls.
