VIOLET ESTER ROBINSON

She was born in Alpena, Michigan on Dec. 25, 1934 to the late Martin and Margaret (Hasse) Domke. Violet grew up on a dairy farm, one of eight children in Herron, Michigan. After leaving the family farm, she worked as a switchboard operator in Alpena until meeting and marrying her lifelong partner, Donald Duane Robinson. They spent 64 years together until his death in 2017. After raising her five children, she went back to work providing adult care for local businesses. In the early 1990’s, she opened her own adult care home, Vi’s Foster Care, in Hillman where she provided a safe, loving, and caring environment to many men and women in their final days. She was a loyal and devoted Christian who enjoyed gardening, bird watching, travel, and caring for others. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to spend time with her large family. She will be dearly missed.
