Alcona High School’s Darren Boyat ran at the Charlton Heston meet on Tuesday, placing ninth with a time of 21:48. The next meet will be the North Star League Finals, held in Oscoda on Tuesday.
AHS BOYS SOCCER TIES
GAYLORD
Alpena High School’s boys soccer team started its away match with a rough start allowing two quick goals from Gaylord’s center striker, according the Alpena coach Gregg Supiran. Alpena fought it’s way on the board with a goal from Owen Kaiser from Keller Skiba.
Alpena went into the second half down 1-2.
Skiba and Kaiser would combine for another goal midway through the second half, tying up the score.
The Blue Devils would then capitalize on a saved PK from Drake Wheelock that the Wildcats couldn’t clear in time late into the second half. Alpena was able to answer with a corner kick from Jack Supiran with a finish from Joe LaCross.
The game ended with a final score of 3-3. The team’s current record now sits at 9-7-4.
ATLANTA VOLLEYBALL BEATS HILLMAN
The Atlanta High School volleyball team defeated Hillman in three sets on Tuesday. The final scores were 25-17, 25-6, and 25-12.
WILDCATS BOYS TENNIS PLAYS HARBOR SPRINGS
Alpena High School’s boys tennis team played Harbor Springs on Monday. Alpena lost 2-6. Landen Gagnon at 1 singles won 6-1, 6-3. Dillan Gagnon at 3 singles won 7-5, 6-3.
Alpena plays Gaylord at home today.
