The Alpena Fire Department and the American Red Cross are teaming up to install free smoke alarms on Alpena’s northside in the vicinity of Lincoln Elementary. This event will take place on May 2, between 4 and 8 p.m. Members of the Alpena Fire Department will go door to door installing smoke alarms and helping families create home escape plans. This event is part of the American Red Cross’s Sound the Alarm Campaign designed to save lives by making homes safer and educating families.
