A 51-year-old Alpena woman was arraigned on Friday in the Alpena 88th District Court on one count of a false police report and one count of attempted unauthorized driving away a motor vehicle.

The owner of the vehicle, a family member, came to the Michigan State Police Alpena Post and alleged that the suspect had broken the driver-side window of her Ford Taurus while attempting to take it. The suspect did not have keys to the vehicle or permission to drive it.

The suspect resisted arrest and was combative with the police. She was handcuffed and lodged in the Alpena County Jail. Bail was set at $2,500. The suspect’s next scheduled court appearance is at 2 p.m. on April 22.
