State hears challenges to broadband availability

The Michigan High-Speed Internet Office is now accepting public challenges to federal maps showing broadband availability across the state.

Residents, local governments, nonprofits, and others who don’t believe the maps accurately reflect the availability of high-speed internet can find information on how to file a formal challenge at tinyurl.com/MIHIchallenge.

The state is accepting challenges through April 23 and will use the challenges and other information to determine where to invest nearly $1.6 billion in federal money the state has received to install high-speed internet connections to every Michigan home and business by 2030.
