Feb. 26

7:07 p.m.: A deer vehicle accident was reported in Briley Township, a deputy responded to take the report, no injuries were reported.

1:46 p.m.: A deer vehicle accident was reported in Vienna Township, a deputy responded to take the report, a second vehicle also hit the same deer. No injuries were reported with either accident.

3:20 p.m.: A male German shepherd was found out at Avery Lake Campground, a deputy responded to transport the dog to ECAS.

Feb. 27

6:47 a.m.: A barn fire was reported on County Road 491 in Albert Township, Albert Township Fire Department along with Vienna Fire responded to the scene, unknown damage to the structure but no injuries were reported.

8:32 a.m.: A Lewiston business reported a male subject was harassing them, subject was verbally warned about trespassing.

2:42 p.m.: Tri Twp Fire Dept responded to a small grass fire on Lake St. The fire was extinguished and all units cleared at 3:15 p.m.

6:35 p.m.: Dispatch was notified that an Otsego officer was out with a subject on a traffic stop that has a warrant out of MCSO. The subject was arrested and posted bond in Otsego County.

8:20 p.m.: A Hillman resident reported she heard barking in the woods by her home, officers were unable to locate the dog.

Feb. 28

3 a.m.: Deputies transported two subjects that had been sentenced to spend time in prison, from Alpena County Jail to Jackson Prison.

9:40 a.m.: Hillman Fire was requested mutual aid into Alpena County for a large plume of smoke, it was found that a subject was burning a brush pile.

10:48 a.m.: A tree across M-33 North was reported, a deputy responded to the scene for traffic control.

12:24 p.m.: A commercial fire alarm in Albert Township was reported by an alarm company, it was found to be a false alarm.

Multiple reports of trees across the road, power lines down, and power lines on fire were reported throughout the day.

2:07 p.m.: The report of a power line across M-33 South was reported, a deputy responded for traffic control until PIE&G could get the line repaired.

2:12 p.m.: Multiple 911 calls came in regarding smoke and fire near the CMU Radio Tower north of Atlanta were reported. The building was a complete loss.

3:07 p.m.: A verbal dispute in progress in the Village of Hillman was reported by an anonymous caller. Deputies responded to the scene and spoke with all parties, and they reported it was a misunderstanding.

Feb. 29

8:23 a.m.: A out of town resident has a seasonal home in Briley Township called to report someone is dumping tires on their property, she was advised to put cameras up to see who is doing it.

9:50 a.m.: A deputy was requested by PIE&G to assist their crew with traffic while they raised a primary line across M-33 South in Avery Township.

10:46 a.m.: A deputy in Alpena County arrested a subject on a Montmorency County warrant, he was lodged in Alpena jail.

1:39 p.m.: A business in Hillman called to report a subject was stealing items from the store, a deputy was in the area and located the subject walking away from the store, he was cited for retail fraud and a court date was given.

4:05 p.m.: Hillman Fire Dept responded to a residence in Rust Township that had smoke alarms going off when the owner returned home. No fire was located and all units cleared at 4:32.

11:30 p.m.: Officers responded to a call from a Briley Township resident for a disorderly male subject in a parking lot in Briley Township. The male was arrested and later lodged at Alpena County Jail for disorderly conduct.

March 1

7:13 a.m.: An officer responded to a one vehicle accident on Roby Rd. The road was icy and the driver lost control and hit a tree. No one was injured.

8:57 a.m.: Dispatch was notified of a one vehicle rollover on Co Rd 459. Hillman Fire & EMS responded along with officers. No one was injured.

5:12 p.m.: An officer responded to a commercial burglar alarm on M-33 North. The business was found to be secure.

March 2

10:41 a.m.: Dispatch received a complaint of a tree that has fallen on a power line and has pulled it partially out of the residence. Tri Twp Fire Dept responded, there was no fire and PIE&G was contacted to repair power line.

3:46 p.m.: During a traffic stop of an ATV on M-33 a male subject was taken into custody for operating while intoxicated and driving without a license. The subject was lodged in Alpena County Jail.

4:03 p.m.: An officer was requested for a welfare check of a female in Hillman Township. The subject was located and everything was OK.

10:26 p.m.: An Atlanta homeowner requested officers remove an unwanted family member from the home, subject has previously been warned not to trespass. Subject had already left the residence when officers arrived.

March 3

3:39 p.m.: A black dog was seen at State Forest Campground in Otsego county, dog was taken to ECAS.

4:29 p.m.: A black and tan hound/husky mix female dog was taken to ECAS, dog was found on M-32 near Camp 8 Rd.

8:20 p.m.: Deer/ Vehicle accident on M-32 near Evans Trail, no injuries were reported and vehicle was able to be driven away.

10:39 p.m.: Briley Twp resident came into the lobby to file a complaint and inquire on the eviction process, deputies spoke with both parties and advised them on how to proceed with the situation.
