LOCAL SPORTS ROUNDUP: AHS baseball takes win

The Alpena Wildcats took on Traverse City West on Friday, taking home the 8-3 win, putting their record at 11-4.

Caleb McEwen took the win on the mound, striking out four, walking two, and gave up six hits.

Grant Jarema and Gabe Glawe both had RBI doubles. Jase Kollen also had three RBIs going 2-3 at the plate. Kollen, Tucker Bright, and Glawe each collected two hits each on the day, helping with the Wildcats’ 10 hits on the day.

ALPENA TENNIS LOST 3-5

Alpena High School’s tennis team played Bay City John Glenn, losing 3-5, setting their record at 0-5.

Audrey Decker won two singles, both with finals of 6-0. Naomi Ratz and Hannah Tracey won doubles with a score of 6-4 in both of their matches. Kaylie Hincka and Megan Brown also won doubles with 6-4 and 6-2 final scores.
