The Alpena FamilySearch Center, an organization that works to bring families together and to assist and promote family history research, is holding a free class today from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The class is the first of an eight-week program designed to teach genealogy and family history.

Classes will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 411 Long Rapids Plaza.
