Officials respond to two-car crash on U.S.-23 North

A car sits in the middle of U.S.-23 North after being involved in a crash with another vehicle Thursday afternoon. Nobody was injured in the wreck.
ALPENA – Nobody was injured in a crash on U.S.-23 North near the entrances of Dollar General and Perch’s IGA at about 2:15 p.m. Thursday.
Although the airbags in the vehicles didn’t deploy, there was heavy damage to one of the cars involved that needed to be towed away by a wrecker.
Traffic in the south-bound lane of the highway was reduced to one lane until the scene was cleared at about 2:25 p.m.
The Alpena Township Fire Department, Alpena County Ambulance, Alpena County Sheriff’s Department, and Michigan State Police responded to the scene.
