POLICE BLOTTER: Montmorency County police respond to animal-at-large complaint, banking complaint, civil standby

Montmorency County Inmates lodged in Alpena County Jail: 7

March 27

9:18 p.m.: A deputy was requested for a civil standby at a residence in Vienna Township for a male subject to get his belongings from the residence.

March 28

9:59 p.m.: Hillman Fire Department and Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover on County Rd 451. No one was injured and all units cleared at 10:55 p.m.

March 29

11:16 a.m.: A verbal dispute not in progress was reported by a family member. Deputies responded to the scene. One of the parties had left the scene prior to their arrival. Deputies spoke with the other involved party. All units cleared without incident.

2:00 p.m.: Multiple 911 calls came into the dispatch center referencing smoke coming from a residence in Briley Township. Tri Township Fire and EMS along with MCSO deputies responded to the scene. There was no fire, the homeowner was having an issue with his boiler system. All units cleared without incident.

4:50 p.m.: A resident of Briley Township came into the lobby of MCSO to report checks that had been cashed from his account that he had not written, investigation is ongoing at this time.

March 30

8:36 a.m.: An animal at large complaint was reported. The caller reported that they had two dogs that came onto their property and killed some of their poultry. A deputy responded, spoke with the reporting party and the owner of the dogs, the owner of the dogs agreed to pay for the birds that had been killed by her dogs. Both parties were fine with this resolution and the deputy cleared without incident.

3:11 p.m.: Two subjects that were in court for another issue were found to have outstanding warrants with Montmorency County. Both subjects were arrested, transported and lodged in Alpena County Jail.

March 31

9:58 p.m.: During routine patrol an officer made a traffic stop in Albert Township. The female driver from Atlanta was given a citation for expired registration.

April 1

9:36 p.m.: Tri Twp Fire Dept responded to a residence in Briley Township for a carbon monoxide detector going off. Units cleared at 10:10 p.m.

April 2

1:55 a.m.: During a traffic stop on County Rd 489 in Albert Township a male subject from Mio was given a citation for driving without a license and no security.
