Flags to be placed on veteran graves Saturday
ALPENA — Thanks to a grant from The Home Depot Foundation, new flags and holders will be placed on veterans’ graves in Holy Cross Cemetery at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Come join Team Depot, veterans and other volunteers in honoring our veterans. Holy Cross Cemetery is located on Washington Avenue across the road from Evergreen Cemetery in Alpena.
Veteran program and lunch Saturday at Leer Lutheran Church
POSEN — Leer Lutheran Church will host A Veterans’ Story: In Order to Form A More Perfect Union at 1 p.m. on Saturday, featuring the Posen VFW Color Guard and a picnic lunch afterward.
The event will be held at Leer Lutheran Church, 10430 S. Leer Road, Posen. If you have questions, call 989-464-3197.

ALPENA — The Thunder Bay Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Banquet will be held at the APlex on Saturday.

Bridge results noted
ALPENA — Alpena Duplicate Bridge Club winners have been announced for this week.
Gordon Bennett and Marge French came in first place, followed by Jackie Kennedy and Loretta Reynolds in second place, and Dale Middleditch and Eve Phillips in third place.
The group meets at 12:30 p.m. each Monday.
