Montmorency County Inmates lodged in Alpena County Jail: 12

Dec. 19

10:32 p.m.: A request for a welfare check on a dog in Albert Township was requested. A deputy responded to the residence, talked to the owner of the dog. The dog was in good health; the deputy cleared without incident.

Dec. 22

2:25 a.m.: A deputy while on routine patrol initiated a traffic stop in Avery Township; the driver was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and transported to Alpena Jail to be lodged.

10:25 a.m.: A resident of Briley Township called to report that there was a medium sized black dog in his yard, he was unable to catch the dog. The Elk County Animal Shelter staff went out and caught the dog, the owner had reported the dog missing on Dec. 11th.

12:43 p.m.: A request for a welfare check on some horses in Briley Township had a deputy respond to the residence, he spoke with the owner of the horses. The horses were in good health. Officer cleared without incident.

5:05 p.m.: A welfare check was requested on a resident in Albert Township; the subject was found to be fine. Deputies cleared without incident.

6:03 p.m.: A deputy responded to a reported vehicle slide off into the tree line in Albert Township; the driver was found to be fine and the deputy took the report.

6:26 p.m.: A vehicle deer accident was reported to dispatch that occurred in Loud Township; the driver was unharmed and an officer took the report.

6:47 p.m.: Deputies responded to a 911 hang-up that occurred in Lewiston; the caller was found to be fine and was just having issues with the phone that called 911.

8:17 p.m.: Officers responded to a dispute in Briley Township; prior to the deputy’s arrival the other subjects had dispersed.

Dec. 24

12:42 a.m.: A motorists in the ditch in Briley Township was reported to dispatch; a deputy responded to assist. A local tow company was contacted to get the motorist back on the roadway. No injuries were reported.

7:35 p.m.: Montmorency County Deputies, along with Vienna Township Fire, Albert Township Fire, and Tri Township Fire & EMS responded to a garage fire in Vienna Township. The fire was contained to the garage; some minor injuries were reported and treated on scene.
