Calcite Credit Union announced Monday that members overwhelmingly approved a merger with Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union.

The combined credit union will have assets in the neighborhood of $700 million, serving 42,838 members through 10 branch office locations in Northern Michigan. The newly formed credit union will offer expanded services, employee opportunity, and enhanced community engagement throughout our region and access to financial services throughout the state of Michigan.

Once the merger is complete, which is expected to occur on March 18, 2023, Calcite Credit Union will begin operating as Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union. Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union President and CEO Donald J. Mills will continue to serve as the President and CEO of the credit union.
