ROGERS CITY — A Rogers City man possessed and distributed child pornography, police believe.

Police recently arrested Matthew Gapczynski, 41, after launching an investigation acting on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Police say they found more than 100 images of child sexually abusive material on one or more electronic devices in Gapczynski’s possession.

Gapczynski, arraigned last week in the 89th District Court in Rogers City, also faces accusations of distributing or promoting child pornography and using a computer to commit a crime.

The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which investigated Gapczynski, provides internet safety resources at michiganicac.com.
