ALPENA — Fast-paced fun flowed through the hallways and into the gym on Thursday afternoon at Ella White Elementary School.

A crowd of proud parents, grandparents, spectators, and students gathered in the gymnasium to see 53 Ella White students show off their singing, dancing, gymnastics, comedy, magic and story-telling skills.

Under the direction of Rodger McElveen and Rogue McElveen, the students shined bright in the spotlight.

This high-energy performance featured many familiar tunes, such as “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “Let’s Dance,” “Do Wah Diddy Diddy,” and many more that kept the audience singing along and tapping their toes.

A group of four boys sang and danced to “Barbie Girl,” which drew smiles and laughter from the audience.

Comedy by Trevor Florip, Adam Florip, Evan Orlowski, Jordan Livingston, Conner Wise, and Draevyn Wooll amused the audience in between singing and dancing numbers.

Harmony Daoust and Loralei Durfee did an excellent job as emcees, with some talented singing and storytelling thrown in.

Magicians Samantha Rinnert and Jordan Livingston entertained the crowd with a few tricks and some comedic banter.

Dominic Harrison and Taryn Mullaney were stage managers.

Dancers included Laney Schultz, Addisyn Kolson, Adrian White, Lucas Makowske, Noah Gelin, Hannah Gilbertson, and Raelynn Headley.

Gymnasts were Clorissa Hoeppner, Gracelyn Cody, Aria Wagner, Teagan VanNatter, Peyton Robbins, Mikayla Ritthaler, Ellasyn Richards, Peyton Martin, Aiyanna Ford, Marley Mills, Hazel Christensen-Cooper, Elliana Scott, and Hannah Gilbertson.

Singers included Kaydence Robbins, Riley Gazo, Preston Curley, Morgan Schultz, Chloe Huskey, Miley Tebo, Raelynn Headley, Hailee Main, Monroe Fante, Noah Lancewicz, Mia Zielaskowski, Scarlett Poll, Alexa Prena, Lucas Sholes, Ella Engstrom, Piper Slominski, Anna Leddy-Slater, and Savannah Villeneauve.
