Man arrested after pointing gun

ALPENA — Alpena police arrested a 21-year old Alpena man on Thursday and he was charged with felonious assault after he aimed a gun at several people outside a residence on State Avenue.

If convicted, he faces up to four years in prison, the Alpena Police Department said in a press release.

The man had an altercation with someone at the home, but left, police said.

He later returned and pointed the gun at those outside.The man was located by police and stopped at the Shell gas station on Chisholm Street, where he was taken into custody.

He was in the possession of a replica BB gun.

The Michigan State Police and Alpena County sheriff’s deputies assisted at the scene.
