More COVID patients recovered

ALPENA — Recovery numbers continue to climb as testing continues for COVID-19, the sickness caused by the coronavirus.

Forty residents of Alpena County are now considered recovered, up from 27 yesterday. Recovery is reported after an infected person has lived 30 days after the onset of symptoms or testing positive.

Six Presque Isle County residents are also reported recovered positive, up three from yesterday, in addition to the three and two recoveries reported previously in Montmorency and Alcona counties, respectively.

Meanwhile, one new case was discovered in an Alpena County resident, for a total of 92.

Other numbers:

Positive tests: Presque Isle County, 11; Alcona County, 8; Montmorency County, 5.

Probable positives: Alpena County, 8; Alcona County, 4.

Deaths while a patient is infected with COVID-19: Alpena County, 9; Alcona County, 1.

According to state data, 25 residents of MediLodge of Alpena are infected. Statewide positive tests total 53,009, with 5,060 deaths.
