Deputies responded to two incidents of unwanted subjects and disorderly conduct during Nautical Festival at the ball field. No arrests were made, and the situations were diffused.

Aug. 2

Near 40 Mile Point Lighthouse, a man was in distress after he fell off his kayak in deep water. A passing boater pulled the man from the water and deposited him on shore. The sheriff’s department, and Rogers City Ambulance responded; the U.S. Coast Guard was called but not needed.

Aug. 5

Deputies responded to a house fire in the city of Onaway. Forest Waverly, Case Township, and Onaway fire stations responded. No injuries were reported, but the house was a loss.
