Peterson, Huron-Manistee National Forests fire staff officer, received the award from the USDA’s Organization of Professional Employees. The award is given yearly to “select USDA employees who have demonstrated momentous leadership, immediate action, and courageous behavior in the course of their duties,”according to a news release from the UDSA.
