The Alcona Health Center is celebrating its 40th anniversary and National Health Center Week with a series of events next week.

Events include:

On Monday, the center will offer information about beating “Monday blues” with stress management and yoga exercises, along with behavioral health services available at the center.

On Tuesday, they’ll offer information on “summer health,” including how to choose the right sunblock and how to stay safe in the water. The center will offer free sunscreen and lip balm.

Wednesday will feature information on hygiene, including how to eat healthy. Healthy snacks, free water bottles and hand sanitizer will be offered, along with free produce from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your own bag or bax to pick some up.

Thursday will feature information on “Healthcare Superheroes,” including information on local health care providers.

And Friday will feature children’s activities to help them become their own healthcare heroes by being active. That happens at the center’s U.S.-23 North location from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features free bike helmets, fire truck tours and more.
