State budget amendment rejected

Proposed amendments that supported the Michigan State Police and allocated meaningful funding to rural Northeast Michigan were rejected this week by House Democrats. The amendments included adding analysis transparency requirements for school safety grants, $1.5 million for Black River dredging and a jetty installation, and reforms for the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy rulemaking and budgetary authority.
